Management Accountant - 3 Month Contract - Immediate Start

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive, qualified Management Accountant to join our accounts team in Croydon, London on a 3 month contract. The successful candidate will support the Major Civil Engineering finance managers and financial controller providing accurate information and analysis of overhead reporting and control of the ledgers in a fast moving environment.

Key Requirements

  • responsible for the integrity of the management accounts
  • will carry out advanced excel producing multiple criteria SUMIFS and elaborate pivot tables
  • balance sheet preparation and review with Senior Management Accountant
  • consolidate the overhead reporting for Major Civil Engineering - This information comes from 6 different systems and sources around the UK
  • balance sheet reconciliation and exposure to complex inter-co settlements
  • give support throughout the implementation of the new Oracle R12 system
  • remapping and redesigning reports and reconciliations to accept R12 type reports
  • keep track and maintain accruals within the management accountants
  • provide commentary and a level of understanding on monthly variations/variances to budget
  • provide support and preparation of the half year and full year fiscal reporting
  • act as a contact point for Intercompany Debtors, send reports and follow up on queries
  • carry out processes relating to project set up including notifying the CSC
  • lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent
  • adhoc duties as and when required by management and team support

Candidate

  • be a qualified accountant with substantial experience within a Senior accounting role within a large, complex construction, civil engineering or project - Retail will also be concerned for this role
  • previous large company background experience
  • strong Excel skills, competent at creating pivot tables, SUMIF statements, VLOOKUPS
  • efficient, motivated team player, ready to tackle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to improve processes - The improvement of processes is key to reduce the amount of time that tasks are being completed
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
  • hardworking and able to contribute to benefit the team
  • ability to work on initiative and able to cope with changing environments
  • work towards tight SLA's
