Unix/Linux Engineer - 12 Month Contract - SwindonJob Title: Unix/Linux Engineer / Sys Admin
Day Rate: £275-£325 per day dependant on experience
Location: Swindon
Contract Length: 12 Months
Computer Futures are looking for Linux/Unix engineer for a large growing organisation in Swindon. The chosen candidate will be required to support three additional sites overseas whilst working from the clients Swindon office. The candidate should also have a full passport and no travel restrictions with the ability to travel abroad on short notice as required. Some home working may be allowed dependant on the candidate.
The role will be split into three parts:
-Support our engineering users in the overseas dealing with the varied 1st/2nd line problems that come in via our helpdesk system. Most problems can be solved by following a wiki document or with basic Linux knowledge (20% of time).
- Work on various projects which are tracked via our Jira ticketing system. (60%)
- Work on Nagios alerts from our monitoring system to ensure all problems are fixed in a timely manner (20%).
