Description
My client based just outside Manchester are looking for a Software Engineer with Strong VB.NET and VB6 as well as strong SQL skills to work on a migration project which involves the Redeployment of 50+ VB6, VB.NET web class and classic ASP applications and 20+ .NET based applications and web services to windows 2008 R2 server. They have also recently installed a new SQL Server 2012 database so there will be some SQL/interfacing work to make sure these VB6 and VB.NET applications sync with the new SQL backend.The goal is to make these internal VB6, VB.NET, SQL systems much more robust and fit for purpose. This will most likely lead into a major upgrade project which will involve some of the more up-to-date .NET technologies and SQL but this initial phase needs to be completed first. The VB6 / VB.NET / SQL client is a global leader in their field and a great name to have on even the most seasoned contractors CV.

Duration: 8 Weeks initially with likely extension
Rate: £250 / Day Anticipated Start Date: Monday 6th July but can be flexible
