Description

The Quality and Engineering Test Lab conducts product and system level testing. Types of testing include Qualification, Reliability, and Customer Response which deal with Thermal, Dynamic, Mechanical, and EMC/EMI.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Perform environmental, mechanical, dynamic, reliability, functional, and EMC/EMI testing on various handheld and mobile computing product and systems.
Follow pre-defined test plans, work instructions, direction Lab Test Engineers, and test standards.
Document results for test reports and issue non-compliance reports.
Interface with internal customers and provide project status updates.
KEY OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES
1. Perform Environmental, Reliability and Functional tests directed by Lab Test Engineer and or following pre-defined test plans.
2. Conduct Temperature testing using Environmental chambers, recording data and observations, and evaluating results.
3. Conduct Mechanical and Dynamic testing using Vibration equipment, Drop/Shock Machines, Wear and Abrasion, Loose Cargo, Tumbling Barrel, and various other mechanical stress machines, recording data and observations and evaluating results.
4. Conduct Sealing tests using IP Dust and Water machines and equipment, recording data and observations, and evaluating results.
5. Conduct EMC/EMI testing recording data and observations, and evaluating results
6. Take data and keep accurate records on all tasks. Generate reports and analyze the data collected as required.
7. Look up and understand technical documents as related to testing requirements.
8. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.

SKILLS:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
1. Technical Associates Degree or Technical School + 3 years experience with Electrical and Mechanical testing background.
2. Full working knowledge of standard lab test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power supplies, etc).
3. Working knowledge of electronic circuits and theory.
4. Knowledge of RF technologies (802.11, Bluetooth, etc.)
5. Mechanical and/or Dynamic testing
6. Qualification or Reliability testing a plus
