POSITION SUMMARY:
The SOA Tools Integration Engineer position is an engineering role on our managed cloud products team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in messaging and integration software and infrastructure. You'll be responsible for delivery of services and technologies within the enterprise and will provide expertise for the infrastructure and business systems that rely upon AMQ and related portfolio products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Providing engineering support for research and development efforts
• Serving as technical escalation point for critical problems and incidents
• Identifying opportunities that eliminate future problems and/or optimize our existing infrastructure services to improve business performance
• Responsible for implementing appropriate monitoring, alerting, and measurements to ensure the health of our environment
• Develop and document disaster recovery plans and participate in testing to ensure environment is recoverable within pre-determined SLAs
• Design and implement comprehensive AMQ monitoring for the enterprise
• Automates operational procedures including but not limited to deployments, log rotations, archiving, backups, patches and upgrades.
• Participates in performance testing and tuning activities.
• Provides technical assistance to the JAVA and .NET application development teams.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of Mule administration experience.
• 5+ years of Unix, Linux, Solaris or other Unix type operating systems
• Experience in Active MQ or IBM MQ engineering, administration, and support
• Knowledge of network and operating systems concepts and security
• Ability to create operational procedures and coach/train others on the operations and maintenance of the technology
• Proficient in Bash
• Experience in analysing application problems using enterprise monitoring tools
