We are looking for a Solution Architect t to participate in design and implementation of components of automotive service delivery platform. It would be distributed and complex software in the area of telematics and telecommunications including over-the-air applications delivery to vehicles and collecting of vehicle health data. Successful candidate would be responsible for:
- Coming up with Java technical solution for a problem. Providing experience on Software Architecture, Design, Development and Delivery of one or more software components.
- Investigate new technologies by designing and implementing proof of concept applications to demonstrate capabilities, followed by written reports and presentations to peers and management
- Design and architecture of the solution that should be scalable, robust, highly available with Throttling and Fault tolerance capabilities leveraging the latest technologies
- Configuration, deployment and support of new releases, and patches provided by offshore development team in a virtualized cloud-like pre-production (business hours) environment and production (non-business hours) environments; preparing release documentation.
- Analyzing application performance and finding out techniques to fine tune the application, database and environment.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and analyze their use against the project requirements. Driving software design and providing guidance to team members on proper usage of new technologies and design patterns.
- Daily cooperation with offshore development team in Agile/Scrum process on new status of new features and fixes, code review, technical discussions of implementation of the new functionality.
- Frequent interaction with customer stakeholders, architecture and qualification teams, and other teams involved in the platform delivery.
- Coaching and mentoring other team members
Applicants should be able to quickly learn new technologies and architecture approaches; drive requirement discussions with the client to understand functional scope of the requirements and create technical solution with the best possible design using the most appropriate technology stack. Sense of ownership and communication skills are required for that role as well.

Required
- Good knowledge of J2EE design patterns. Experience on creating and implementing application architecture.
- Strong knowledge of the following frameworks and technologies: JMS, REST/JSON Web Services, Spring, Hibernate
- Strong understanding of messaging and system integration concepts. Experience developing event-driven solutions is required
- Advanced knowledge of multi-threading concepts is required
- Strong experience in Java memory usage and performance analysis
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and demonstrate them using POCs.
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban or similar)
Platform technology stack consists of:
- Java: JDK 7/8
- Frameworks: Spring (Core, MVC, Web Services, Boot), Hibernate/JPA
- REST/JSON Web Services
- JMS
- Redis
- Server: Tomcat, JBoss
- Strong SQL knowledge
- Unix/Linux as a user (experience working in console terminal is required)
- Java Multithreading/Concurrency APIs
- MQTT protocol knowledge is a plus
- Jamaica VM knowledge is a plus
