A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen Recruitment is looking for a Senior Category Buyer to join a large scale programme of work within their headquarters.
Working across one or more categories, you'll hone a range of commercial purchasing skills such as negotiation, project management and relationship management that will help you succeed, both in procurement and in a wide range of other business careers.
We're looking for energetic, results focused people with some experience of procurement. For opportunities in core business roles knowledge of a related area such as quantity surveying or construction would also be beneficial.
A good appreciation of procurement processes, strategic sourcing and category management is essential for all roles. You'll also need the communication and negotiation skills to build productive relationships with customers and suppliers.
Experience of energy, utilities or regulated procurement would be helpful but is not essential, providing you are highly analytical and able to get to grips with new information quickly.Beneficial to have credibility - utilities experience, major construction projects.

Essential Experience Required:
- 3-5 years experience required in a strategic sourcing requirement
- sourcing in a structured procurement environment
- formal negotiation
- Understanding of T&C's

- CIPS qualified
- Regulated procurement environment, Utilities Regulation/EU directives
- Construction experience
We are not looking for someone who has a commercial role outside strategic sourcing, including; tactical/operational procurement, quality assurance professionals or sales personal with tender completion experience.
