Role - Business Release Manager

Duration - 6 months

Location - London or Halifax

Role Accountabilities

The Client Support Release Manager is a vital position which requires an action-orientated, flexible problem-solver who will to manage the interface between application releases, delivery teams and the bank with the key objective of ensuring that each Release can be implemented on the due date without any adverse impact.

This role will become an expert in the Client delivery and Releases processes and will ensure that Release teams provide quality deliverables.

Manage the Process

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage a clear framework for the Release
  • Manage the exceptions to this framework
  • Manage client escalations impacting Risks, Issues, Assumptions and dependencies relating to the Release
  • Review and approve redacted documents to be shared with the client
  • Ensure any client actions required as a result of changes to milestones are being progressed
  • Alert Release stakeholders to any issue, risk or concern raised by the client that may impact on the Release delivery
  • Facilitate defect resolution for any defect impacting the client that may pose a threat to the Release implementation

Report and Communicate

  • Report progress to stakeholders via agreed metrics on a regular basis
  • Establish and maintain Release communications with the client in line with the guidelines
  • Be the escalation point for the client for Release deliveries

Learn and Apply

  • Record and assess lessons learned
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned sessions with the client on a regular basis

Key Accountabilities are

  • Project Delivery - Implements appropriate client support processes to manage issues, mitigate risks, monitor dependencies and ensure that the right level of quality is achieved in all deliverables.
  • Project Delivery - Timely and accurate completion of own project deliverables, assessing and managing risks and identifying counter measures.
  • Consultancy Advice & Domain Knowledge - develops an expert knowledge of the impact of change on clients and shares this knowledge
  • Stakeholder Management - Builds and maintains effective working and influencing relationships with appropriate colleagues, proactively answering queries and following up actions with stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management - Reports progress and status to the appropriate stakeholders on a timely basis, including identification and escalation of key risks and issues.
  • Stakeholder Management - is the key point of contact for clients on queries relating to Release deliveries, notwithstanding the PM to PM relationship on some projects this role is responsible for understanding and communicating to clients the change which will be delivered to them and receive queries from clients relating to deliveries

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong toolkit of project management techniques and have extensive experience of performing in a senior capacity within significant programme(s)
  • Strong understanding of change management, life cycle stages, dependency management and interest in understanding large change programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and work with, and influence executive stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation and time management. Ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and react accordingly to changing demands and priorities.

  • Ability to work with all levels of client and internal resources
  • Coordination, negotiation, and persuasion skills
