A well respected development company in Dublin South is seeking an experienced application software tester for a contracor for an initial 6 month contract.The purpose of the role is to define, document, communicate, schedule and implement testing and test strategies with regard to the applications for the company, supporting the current businesses of the group and potential future businesses, continuously optimising the strategies and methodologies
Duties
- Design and perform manual and automated test activities
- Support UAT
- Design Test documentation
- Interact with Business, QA and Development teams to help design and build Applications
- Provision of support to Business users during UAT.
- Performance Testing
- Test Automation (HP UFT)
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of QA/Development methodologies
- Experience of Automated test tools/frameworks
- Experience testing Web and Mobile applications
- A strong understanding of the Release Management process
- Experience using Defect management tools - JIRA
- Performance Testing experience
- Good knowledge of Databases/SQL scripting
- Business knowledge and direct experience of application implementation and support within a business context.
- Experience of working in an enterprise computing environment
- Fluent in business English language - written and verbal
- Ability to engage with multiple levels within business and IT ranging from executive through software developers
Education and Qualifications
- High level education (Degree) is an advantage, but not essential
- Minimum 2 year's experience in application testing
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in business applications support
- Working knowledge and use of PC applications (MS Office) and groupware tools (Lotus Notes)
- Formal training in software development and the computing environment.
- Demonstrable understanding and several years' experience of applications management requirements
