Description
Network Support Engineer WAN/LAN/2/3rd line support/Cisco/Juniper
Deployment and support of Local Area Network solutions based on the Cisco Ethernet Switching product range including Nexus. Following implementation guidelines, deployment of solutions, following developments in product range, standardizing on hardware and software revision levels.
*Deployment and support of Gateway solutions providing access to Internet, based on Checkpoint, Cisco and Juniper product ranges. Following implementation guidelines, deployment of solutions, following developments in product range, standardizing on hardware and software revision levels.
*Deployment and support of Wide Area Network solutions based on the Cisco and Juniper product ranges. Following implementation guidelines, deployment of solutions, following developments in product range, standardizing on hardware and software revision levels.
*Documenting functionality, scope of deployment and traffic profile; ensuring network readiness in meeting service level agreements.
*Providing second and third level support to the LAN, WAN and Application environments.
Knowledge and required experience
*Deployment and support of Local and Wide Area Networks
*Good experience in support and deployment of OSPF and BGP routing protocols.
*Good experience in support and deployment of QoS and traffic contracts in LAN/WAN.
*Good experience in support and deployment of MPLS networks delivering layers 2 & 3 VPN and Traffic Engineering solutions.
*Experience in support and deployment IP Multicast based on Cisco product range.
*Good writing skills.
*Hands-on Network Management skills in application and configuration of at least two of the following platforms: HP Openview, InfoVista, Crannog
*Thoroughly familiar with protocol analysis tools such as Network General Sniffer.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft networking infrastructure.
