Description

A direct Madison, WI client seeks Cobol Mainframe Developers.

Expected Start Date: August, 2015 for initial one year engagement with two possible one-year extensions.

The Client will consolidate IT systems and equipment for improved efficiency and modernization of its IT Systems and infrastructure. The goal is to deploy PeopleSoft to consolidate multiple outdated human resource, procurement and financial business systems into one efficient, transparent and modern enterprise-wide system.

To support this effort, the Client is looking for two high-energy individuals with significant experience in Mainframe development to provide IT services. In general, candidates will provide analysis, development and technical support for Client's business services applications.

Candidates will function in two capacities: (1) a backfill capacity to Client's Mainframe applications development staff so they can be freed up to work on project work and (2) related integration work.

Skill requirements:

Client has custom Mainframe applications in the aforementioned functional areas using Cobol, CICS, JCL, SAS, DB2 and IMS technologies.

Environmental tools: Platinum, Move for DB2, ChangeMan, Control-M and Control-D.

Other tools or technologies: Web services, SyncSort, and Co:Z Batch.

Significant development experience in the above Mainframe tools and technologies is required.

Developer experience with financials, procurement, HR/payroll and budget is preferred.

PeopleSoft experience is desired.

Client also has web applications using Java, VB, XML, web services and stored procedures. Development experience in the above web technical areas is desired.

Candidates must have superior communication and organizational skills.

Business Analyst skills are required.

Project tasks:

Backfill existing Client staff for development, maintenance and support of Client's business services applications.

Collaborate with business unit and IT staff on support and project issues.

Work as part of a team to analyze system impact.

Research and analysis to diagram systems and interfaces.

Develop conversion and interface programs.

Retire programs and ensuing clean-up.

Recruitment information:

In-person interview is preferred.

Schedule is M-F, 8 hours/day.

A list of references should be provided.

Client anticipates renewing these positions at the end of the fiscal year pending performance.
