Web Solutions Consultant is responsible for leading the design, development and testing of components for one or more projects utilizing several web technologies. S/he will utilize the client's SDLC or Agile development approach and produce technical design and code artifacts, as well as develop other work products using an iterative process.
Responsibilities:
To design, develop and implement code modules for Web based and mobile friendly Responsive Web applications. Utilize software development tools and processes commonly used for web development.
Responsible for creating Web & Service Applications using technologies such as Java, J2EE, JQuery, Ext JS, Node.js, Sencha Touch and other related frameworks including responsive web design using Bootstrap CSS and other mechanisms..
Responsible for writing Data Access Components using plain Java/SQL/JDBC and as well as using technologies like Spring and Hibernate.
To deploy web software through a QA/UAT cycle and to be capable of deploying code manually or in a scripted deployment environment, which ever method is available.
Must be able to perform design reviews, code reviews and conduct code auditing activities.
Assist in designing hardware and software application environments for one or more Web projects, in close collaboration with vendors and client's infrastructure management group.
To efficiently analyze and fix defects in the context of one-off fixes, maintenance releases, and small enhancements when larger development efforts are not underway.
Responsible for coordinating with team members to achieve desired results and possible mentoring of junior programmers as needed.
Proactively identifying issues in the development and bring up the same to the attention of tech architect or management attention at the very early stages.
Experience in analysing, fixing and solving defects in a complex web applications and/or participating in bug-fix or small maintenance release with a small to medium size development team
Must have good communication skills both verbally and in written form and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as a member of a team.
Qualifications
10 to 12 years relevant Java based web programming work experience with solid hands-on experience in a Unix/Linux environment.
Ability to take UX design and turn it into fully functional and highly performant web application.
Solid hands on experience with J2EE, Java, JavaScript, Ext JS, JQuery, Node.js, Sencha Touch, Bootstrap CSS, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, XML and CSS 3.0 in support of web application development
Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and web application design.
Proficient with writing and utilizing REST/SOAP Web Services and API Gateways.
Experience using IDEs like Eclipse, RAD and application Servers like IBM WebSphere and/or Tomcat/Apache.
Solid understanding of SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers and other Database concepts.
Strong experience in tools such as Junit, Ant, Maven, GitHub, SVN, CVS.
UNIX Scripting skills
Good understanding of performance, load, web security and scanning tools such as Fortify.
Develop or enhance existing automatic code deployment process, as required.
Demonstrated experience in delivering on aggressive timelines and ability to lead developers.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with DevOps tools such as Chef, Jenkins, UrbanCode.
Hands on experience Designing and Developing Workflow, Processes using Lombardi Workflow.
Experience with IBM BlueMix technology components.
