Go To Market/Deployment Project Manager

Need to have specific experience in:

    • Managing Business Acceptance Testing
    • Planning & Leading Go to Market activities
    • Co-ordination of Cut Live activities - both pre and post cut live

Experience with large scale launch across multiple locations, organisations, suppliers etc

Reports to: MVNO Programme Manager

Location: Dublin City Centre

Contract type: 6 months Contract

Role Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to lead the creation of critical business capability to the Wholesale businesses through the exploitation of effective, business aligned processes and information systems. The PM will to act as the link between the various stakeholders in the development and exploitation the total solution.

Nature and Scope

Quality project deliveries that are on time/on budget are critical to company performance. The role purpose is to deliver the project from an end to end' perspective - ie both the business and technical components. Projects will be delivered to specification in accordance with agreed standards. Elements of the complete solution may be delivered from a range of internal company teams and external partners and suppliers.

The quality, usability and cost of ownership of the resulting projects are key indicators of success.

Projects may involve the sourcing of solutions from business partners and third party suppliers and the interface management thereof. It is important that project managers continue to develop their skills; their understanding of project management best practice; and their knowledge of project management methods, technologies and both fixed and mobile telecommunications

Senior Project Manager

  • Full end-to-end responsibility for projects/programmes. A programme is a group of related projects managed together to deliver specific business outcomes
  • Is the authority on the project for facilitating decision making
  • Strong team-leading and customer interaction skills
  • Challenges the team and the customer for the overall good of the project
  • Ability to set priorities and work to tight timelines an budgets
  • Relationship building and engaging skills - both with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Pro-active attitude; generates ideas and inputs to deliverables.

  • Maintains a clear view (on behalf of all team members) on what the objectives are and what success will look like

Accountabilities

  • Manage the delivery of projects including planning, progress tracking, resource management, RAID (Risk, Assumptions, Issue, and Dependencies) management and escalation
  • Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost using established estimating models, best practices, and past experience
  • Measure and monitor progress of the project at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, that it meets or exceeds expectations and delivers the business benefits. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks
  • Ensure that risks are identified, managed and that mitigating actions are implemented at the project level as appropriate, and that these are escalated to the relevant stakeholders where warranted
  • Direct external partners and vendors to develop detailed plans for each work-stream/requirement to required company standards
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule that is fully resource levelled and clearly shows critical path
  • Resolution and communication of options to address issues arising from development or support
  • Ensure interdependencies are identified and managed across related projects and team

Process

  • Ensure that the project team follows all Procurement and quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions
  • To take ownership and responsibility for compliance with process controls and their improvements and the production and maintenance of all relevant compliance evidence
  • Ensure compliance with stated operational/maintenance processes

Finance

  • Manage the overall project budget and strictly adhere to all Financial processes and polices

Customer

  • Regular status updates to be provided to key stakeholders
  • Proactively manage stakeholders to ensure the continuing success and reputation of the business
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations. Manage relationships with all vendors and sub-contractors. Monitor their progress and adherence to the contract

Role specific technical skills

  • Extensive successful project and program management (PMI certification a plus) at a strategic level
  • Has delivered a full life cycle projects from inception to product delivery.
  • Experience of implementing business change within Telco sector
  • Experience managing virtual teams in different locations
  • Experience of managing projects at €500K+ value
  • Experience managing projects in a Telco Wholesale or Telco Mobile environment is desirable
  • Experience of vendor management and budget management
  • Strong commercial and financial skills
  • Experience of System Development Lifecycle management
  • Good MS Project, Powerpoint, Word & Excel skills
  • Can manage project critical path drivers
  • Has organisational, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Can deal with ambiguity
