Description
Architect required to be based in Birmingham who will be reporting to the Enterprise Architect, supporting the overall management of IT strategy and operational delivery.
Architect will operate across organizational and IT teams to drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise. The goal is for you to deliver and support the most efficient and secure IT environment meeting the company's business needs, driving consolidation and simplification.
Essential
- Experience designing and architecting complex enterprise solutions, delivering technical strategies and full life-cycle implementations in support of a business solution.
- Proven experience in an architecture role.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Good project management skills
- Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner
- Extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry within areas of application development and deployment, and in the areas of creation and maintenance of the infrastructure to support a complex application environment.
- Ability to influence and motivate staff outside of direct reporting line responsibility.
- Experience of presenting architectural solutions at all levels up to, and including, Executive.
Desirable
- Strong background formulating customer proposals.
- Experience of TOGAF, Zachmann or similar architecture frameworks.
- Experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production.
- Experience in more than one industry sector.
- Experience in the Financial Services sector.
- Matrix management experience
About the role:
- Support the Enterprise Architect in the development, documentation and maintenance of an information technology architecture model that meets the needs of the organization based on its strategy and goals.
- Support the Enterprise Architect in the creation and evolution of a technology roadmap that defines current technical architectures, future architectures, and the evolution for transition for all projects.
- Support the Enterprise Architect in the development, documentation and maintenance of the principles and rules that govern the technology architecture model and ensuring new solutions conform to those principles and rules.
- Support the Enterprise Architect in agreeing deviations to the technology architecture model and overseeing activities to align deviations back to the core model as required.
- Provide design oversight for the implementation of new systems solutions.
- Integrate new IT solutions with existing systems and processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods, design patterns, and tools.
- Support the Enterprise Architect in leading strategic technological planning to achieve company's goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
- Responsible for documenting and using multiple architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.
- Work with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets
