Data Modeller (Business & Logical Modelling) is required by HSBC Investment Bank
We require a Business Data Modeller to assist with the integration of disparately developed business-centric data models into HSBC group's central business information model (The HBIM).
Key responsibilities include: liaise with the business and its data modellers/analysts, resolve conflicts between competing needs of different elements of the business, ensuring newly developed models re-use pre-existing group model components and overseeing the incorporating of candidate models into the HBIM master.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Clearly and accurately articulating HBIM content and modelling principles to other modelers and business users;
- 2Developing candidate models' to reflect business area-specific data needs in accordance with good modelling practices and group standards;
- Advise other modelers on HBIM modelling techniques and the use of good modelling practices and group standards;
- Integrate own candidate models' into the baseline HBIM; and
- Integrate candidate models' developed by other modelers into the baseline HBIM.
Typical Targets and Measures;
- Accurate interpretation of business data needs and HBIM data content meaning
- Appropriate use of good modelling techniques and the application of team and group standards and guidelines standards in model development
- Timely delivery of accurate and complete business information models that are conformant to good modelling practices and group standards timely; and
- Timely and accurate integration of candidate models' into the HBIM baseline.
Knowledge and experience
- Detailed understanding of Datamodelling (eg ERM) practices. (Must have Logical & Business Modelling)
- Datamodelling in Capital Markets, Investment Banking or Investment Management
- Proven track record of creating and maintaining business information models/data models
- Experience in business analysis and business data requirements development for Financial Services industry
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities
- Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment is desirable
