FATCA Analyst - Tax operations
Opportunity for a tax analyst with solid knowledge of FATCA and US tax regulations to join one of the worlds leading Investment Banks.
This role sits within the EMEA Markets Tax Operations unit, ensuring compliance with US Tax regulations and internal control guidelines.
Responsibilities;
- Validation of US Tax documentation using vendor software with linkage to account master and product processor.
- Manage the documentation validation processes to a high standard and work with colleagues to ensure remediation of any issues that occur with a particular focus on processing U.S. self-certifications tax documentation validation for the FATCA pre-existing account due diligence ("FATCA PADD") exercise, annual tax form expiration and interest on cash collateral
- First point of contact for queries relating to above and escalating to senior team members when required
- Ensure that processes and responsibilities are correctly followed in line with procedures.
- Follow core FRO TIR processes and procedures
- Work as part of team to ensure all daily functions are covered to the highest standard with a 'no surprises' attitude.
- Provide input on how to 'do it better', share experience/idea's and help us move forward.
Experience;
- Two to three years' experience in an operations Tax/asset servicing environment.
- Proven skills in the above area by being involved in successful projects and teams at other institutions.
- A wide variety of market knowledge
- (Preferable) Knowledge of the US tax regulations (including US and NRA, documentation, withholding and reporting) and the Qualified Intermediary Regulations.
- Background understanding of UK CDOT and CRS
- Ability to interact confidently with other divisions, at all levels
- Proactive and questioning nature
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
