Description
The Senior Analyst works as part of a project team or service team to specify and design systems solutions within one or more business areas.
As a senior member of the team the SA is expected to coach and develop the other team members and also to take a lead role in designing and promoting their solutions.
Responsibilities:
*Take responsibility for complete small projects or areas of responsibility (technical, development or service-related) or the management of a discrete service area
* Define and or recommend detailed technical, systems or service solutions to meet user requirements as defined in requirement specifications or equivalent.
* Co-ordinate the work of the team to ensure functionality is delivered on time and within agreed resources.
* Liaise with users as required to clarify issues, problems or to agree functional design of business requirements
* Liaise with third-party/in-house developers/service providers to ensure that deliverables are completed to time and specification.
* Plan and manage systems tests to ensure that solutions work correctly and meet the specification.
* Investigate and resolve complex user problems channelled via the Helpdesk or equivalent in order to minimise disruption to operational activity.
* Contribute to the implementation of new/changed systems to meet user requirements, time constraints and service standards.
* Coach and mentor more junior members of the team to develop their analytical skills

Essential Qualifications:
* 4+ years experience in a 11g Oracle Development environment
* in depth SQL Development skills
* Excellent analytical and design skills
* Technical competence in a range of technical areas
* Basic project management
* Basic vendor management
* Influencing and negotiation skills
* Formal systems analysis methodologies
* Ability to liaise with users and service providers
Desired Qualifications:
* Knowledge of the Insurance/financial services industry
* Ability to work independently and to take responsibility for design decisions
