A hugely successful Irish owned global business requires a Senior SQL Server DBA to join their existing team, hit the ground running and get involved with the business environment.The business has significant contracts in the US and has a number of upcoming projects both native to the team and business led projects. This increased workload has resulted in an urgent need for a Senior SQL Server DBA to join ASAP.
Job Title: Senior SQL Server Production DBA
Daily Rate: €450 - €500
Location: Dublin City Centre
Contract: Initially 6 months
The Job
The small technology led team in a large IT department has a strong focus on autonomy and therefore expects self-starters to have the ability to work independently or as part as a team where required.
Your role will involve database monitoring, performance tuning, high availability strategies with MS SQL Server in a production environment. Managing, maintaining, developing and recommending policies and procedures to ensure the performance, availability, security and integrity of the company's databases. You will also be responsible for identifying and resolving database performance issues and managing the migration of SQL 2000 databases to the latest SQL 2014 version.
Technical Skills Required
Strong T-SQL background in high volume
SQL Server
Experience of performance tuning of SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008 R2 databases
SSIS
RAID & SAN Configuration and management
Desired
Degree educated
Certifications in specific technologies
This is a great opportunity for a Senior SQL Server Production DBA contractor to join a hugely successful company with a high level of freedom and with a strong chance of contract extension after 6 months.
