Our client in the aviation sector based in Brussels is looking for a Solutions Architect for a 6 month contract (with yearly extensions).
Details of the role:
Our client requires a Solutions Architect for the organisation and writing of the CUA Architecture and design documents, software requirements documents, by analysing or reverse engineering the code, by gathering input from the technical solution documents. The documents are written in English, by using modelling tool Enterprise architect, and requirements management tool HP ALM.
Tasks include:
oOrganise and perform the technical documentation activities under the supervision of the service architecture team lead. The technical documents being architectural design document (ADD), software requirements document (SRD), interface control document (ICD) and business service request document (BSR).
oThe activities comprise the completion and maintenance of these documents with the assistance of the different subject matter experts.
oPerform document quality reviews of the technical documents produced in the team. The review activities will focus on general document quality review rather than technical content review. Document quality being for example using a goal-oriented approach, clarity, direct-access, navigation and search, tone, unambiguousness, consistent phraseology and terminology, structure in detail, layout, English, grammar, spelling, etc.
Requirements
Must have's:
oVery good written and oral English skills.
oVery good technical documentation organisation.
oUnderstanding of and experience with the use of UML in technical documentation.
oAbility to read and reverse engineer Java code to UML using a modelling tool in order to create the necessary content for the ADD, SRD or BSR documents.
oAble to quickly understand the existing processes, documentation and modelling tools.
oExperience in MS Word, HP ALM, Enterprise Architect, Docbook, XML editor, or equivalent tools.
oExperience with Document Management System tools such as MS-SharePoint.
oExperience with Configuration Management and version control concepts.
oProfessional software development background with a solid knowledge of Java/J2EE environments.
All potential candidates must be fluent in English. Any knowledge of French or Dutch will be favoured.
