Geoscience IT engineer - Oxfordshire - 6 month initial contract (12-36 months scope) - URGENT - £pd)One of my key clients has developed a requirement for a Geoscience engineer for an initial 6 month project.
Background:
You will be working for a global oil and gas client of computer futures in a support function within their IT services team.
Within the team, you will be responsible for identifying, deploying, installing, testing and intergrating applications into their end clients applications.
Ideally you will have a degree in Geoscience. However we will consider degree level information technology, computer science or earth sciences.
Technical skills:
5 years Oil & Gas experience (ideally)
Solid understanding of the exploration and production industry/domain - covering modern software and workflows.
Strong Application installation experience
Unix, windows, citrix
Responsibilities:
Work closely with software venders for new releases
Attend demos, workshops, client sessions
Demonstrate new functionality of software to user groups
Take ownership of UAT until release
Test and deploy applications in pre and productions environments
Ensure documentation is accessible/reliable.
Soft skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable delivering presentations.
Customer facing skills
Strong time management
