We are looking for Corporate Attorney - Telecommunications in CA
Location: Newport Beach, CA
Duration: Long Term
Start: 2-3 weeks
Seeking attorney for contract with corporate legal experience, emphasis on telecommunications law. Requires a strong understanding of Contract review and negotiations on franchise agreements with respect to wireless carrier infrastructure operations. Knowledge of pole location contract a plus. Requires excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills and ability to work well in a dynamic business environment and within a multi-disciplined legal department. Must be self-starter with big picture vision of growing the company's projects, able to work with minimal supervision with commitment to the end client.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Must be able and willing to review and negotiate contract agreements in line with the company's network solutions in co-location management, communication towers, WiFi, Small Cell and DAS.
- Expected to explain our technical and product details to outside counsel, apply black letter law and general legal principles to our solutions, and provide precise, application-specific legal requirements to other departments.
- Interpret, advise on and engage in formulation of company position in connection with federal (primarily FCC) and state rule-making proceedings and orders.
- Oversee preparation of agreements and provide inputs for comments filed on behalf of industry in connection with solutions offered with clients and counter parties
- Work on federal and state proceedings, working with outside counsel, DC policy counsel and relevant business leads on drafting and/or review.
- Provide strategic direction on legal and policy related matters at both the FCC and various State PUCs.
- Support for litigation and/or agency investigations/enforcement on regulatory matters. Including many aspects on telco carrier clients.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BS/BA degree and Law degree required
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, with 3 years' legal experience required
- Requires strong knowledge of telecommunications law
- Excellent writing and communication skills and ability to work and interact in business environment.
- Customer focused, self-starter, able to work on multiple projects with little supervision.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience working on telecom functional projects preferred.
