Description

A Renewable Energy Operator is looking for a Welding Engineer (also know as a Metalurgist) to complete a 12 months frealcne contract starting in October. The Welding Engineer will report to the OSP Build/Construction Manager.



Responsibilities:  



- Complete Inspections and verifications of workmanship and weld quality based on applicable project Specifications/Drawings//Norm/Codes/Standards.



- Verify operational welding techniques and activities used to fulfil quality control requirements for welding operations.



- Review and verify PQR's and WPS's for foundation aspects of the project.



- Planning, control, supervision and application of base material and filler metals in the preparation and completion of production.



- Check detection and measurement of weld discontinuities by application of visual or other non-destructive evaluation processes to an written procedure.



- Check verify plans/drawings/specifications regarding validity and clear marked with AFC (Approved for construction).



- Assist with final inspections of components and associated as-built records prior to dispatch where required.



- Provision of expert advice and assistance as required to foundation fabrication team at all locations.



- Review of technical procedures and documentation, analysis of repeated weld failures or other technical issues.



- Supporting inspection and monitoring of WTG Foundation Transition Piece production and final assembly works.



- Checking of as built documentation prior to issue ensuring correct and complete information is present.



- Verify welders qualifications and certifications. Review, verify material certificates. Check, verify by measuring weld equipment calibration status and correctness of calibration certificates.



- Provide support to site teams with resolution of any technical issues with welding or materials.



- Occasional Provide technical and production support as required to other areas of project such as substation construction.



Experience required:



- At least 2 years’ experience within production facility of offshore wind turbine foundation structures.



- At least 5 year experience as welding inspector.



- Expert knowledge of NDE/NDT methods.



- CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector.



- Expert knowledge of national/international codes/standards – DIN-EN 14731 IIW (International Institute of Welding)- or AWS (American Welding Society) ASME IX or DIN EN.



- Formal qualification in Quality Management.



- Ideally educated in Master’s degree in Welding Engineering.
