Description

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performing all programming, development, integration and system administration assignments without close supervision.
  • Providing project management, programming, systems and/or system administration leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
  • Working on more complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
  • Working independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs, systems or in support of infrastructure component change management.
  • Developing major system modules, programs or infrastructure releases based on requirements gathered from system customers.
  • Performing integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
  • Fully knowledgeable of current programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems. Performing integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased hardware and software solutions.
  • Assisting customers with documentation, training and usability efforts.
SKILLS:

Required Qualifications:
  • A 4 year college or university degree and a minimum of 4 years exempt experience in information services.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply data processing philosophies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of procedures and operations of the functional business areas.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply complex programming languages and other advanced development tools used by Client's financial services.
  • Ability to identify systems deficiencies and recommend and develop new software/programs to correct the deficiencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer operations systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer software and how to implement such software.
  • Ability to train and advise employees on the use of computers and software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve mechanical/technical problems with emphasis on troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lead project development teams.
  • Ability to identify and correct systems and program problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to reinforce high quality standards driven by company objectives.
  • Ability to create and maintain an environment conducive to collaboration across corporate business units and service divisions.
  • Ability to listen to others and communicate effectively.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the finance industry and experience in project leadership is desired.
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience in a 24x7 environment
  • 4+ years of recent experience with VMware 5.x administration (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, SRM);
  • 4+ years of recent experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 5.x/6.x/7.x); AIX 7.x preferred
  • Shell Scripting, Powershell, PowerCLI experience preferred
  • Other languages useful. Strong Network and Storage concepts
  • Deep Linux systems experience including diagnosing performance problems related to network issues, and memory/CPU utilization
  • Experience managing Servers in large corporate environments, including security, security policy compliance, and exception processes
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Assist and/or train Server Administrators as needed
  • Configuration management experience.
  • Puppet is preferred.
