A leading defence company require an Information Assurance Engineer for an initial 6 month contract

*Job Summary*

We are currently recruiting an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer. You should have a firm understanding of information security; understand the challenges faced by projects and an enthusiasm for delivering benefits and improvements to product development and delivery.

*Key Responsibilities*

Our IA Engineers works closely with the wider project and information security risk, mitigation and design through the product life cycle.

In particular you will help projects to:

- Understand the product information risk context, and propose architectures and countermeasures to mitigate risks from solutions;

- Work closely with managers, solution architects and system engineers to identify, design and implement security controls which provide value driven risk reduction;

*Mandatory Skills and Experience Required*

- An understanding of the current trends and developments in Information Assurance.

- Demonstrable experience of identifying information risks and the commensurate controls.

- Awareness of architectural frameworks and experience in applying security architecture principles to small or large integration projects.

- Subject matter expertise in one or many security technologies - such as network security, protective monitoring, encryption etc.

- Ability to articulate security advice directly to key stakeholders.

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and concurrently manage multiple project expectations as well as different aspects of Information Assurance.

- Degree qualified in Information Security, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or Science, with strong A-levels or equivalent.

- Hold CESG Certified Professional SIRA and/or IA Architecture at Practitioner or similar qualifications

*Desirable Skills and Experience*

- Experience of IA Engineering delivery in a defence systems integrator business.

- Higher degree in information or computer/network security.

- Hold CESG Certified Professional SIRA at Senior or similar qualifications

- Hold CESG Certified Professional IA Architecture at Senior or similar qualifications
