Position Description:
Support multiple projects involving CNN's coverage of the 2016 Presidential Elections.
Partner with product management, editorial, design and third party stakeholders to gather business requirements and constraints. Document acceptance criteria.
Drive requirement gathering/discovery meetings
Partner with product management on prioritization of features. Partner with software engineers across multiple teams to understand technical capabilities and constraints - Resolve conflicting priorities, requirements and constraints across multiple stakeholders, recommend solutions and drive agreement on what can be accomplished under given time/resource/budget/technical constraints.
Create tickets with sufficient detail for the software engineering and QA teams
Partner with software engineering and QA team leads to assess LOE for each ticket - Act as the Proxy for the product manager while interfacing with software engineers and QA teams.
Partner with the QA team and answer questions about requirements during the testing process
Manage multiple/rapidly changing priorities and requirements
Develop requirements a sprint ahead of the rest of the team
Partner with project manager for planning and execution of the upcoming sprint
Communicate regularly with project manager regarding task or project status
Qualifications:
At least five years' experience in the role of a technical business analyst
Software development experience required (preferably in Javascript)
Experience with web based applications
Experience with mobile applications (iOS and Android)
Experience with agile methodologies - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, business, or equivalent education/training/experience
Exposure to User Experience Design
Advanced communications skills (written/verbal), with emphasis on demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts between business and technical groups
Basic project management skills
