Description
Summary- The qualified individual will utilize knowledge of informatics to support R&D laboratories through development, maintenance, and end-user support of computer systems and computer hardware.
- A basic foundation in the software development life cycle is needed and knowledge of computer programming languages, such as C++, Java, LIMS Basic, SAS, PHP, ColdFusion, and/or other web Scripting languages, is expected.
- Participate in both analysing user requirements/models/specifications and convert them into technical solutions.
- Aid in development, debugging, and testing of home grown and off-the-shelf technical solutions.
- Aid in the validation of computer systems or hardware processes.
- Provide day-to-day end-user support/troubleshooting.
- Deploy bench-top PCs, image PCs, and troubleshoot hardware concerns.
- Aid in the writing of departmental SOPs; maintain technical paperwork and migrate such data to archive repository.
- Assist with data archival and storage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of various computer programming languages including experience with Scripting languages.
- Most work will occur in LIMS Basic, but a foundation in other similar languages is enough to get started.
- Hardware imaging and network configuration experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable database concepts (Oracle) and SQL.
- AP Department Experience
- Labware and LIMS experience is a must!
