Description

We’re looking for flexible, hard-working and enthusiastic developers to add to our list of trusted freelancers for future projects and on-going holiday cover. We’re looking for people who can work on high-demand, fast-turnaround projects with at least 2 years experience with front and back end development.

You’ll be working with a team of developers and collaborating with a range of other colleagues including the digital production manager, policy communications advisers, web designers and the agency partners.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be to develop both front and back end websites, online readers, presentations, data apps and other digital products, using a variety of different frameworks, CMS’ and languages – software and coding languages used will depend on current development team practices and individual project requirements. Currently this is often LAMP with HTML5 and SASS front ends. WordPress and Bolt CMS’ are often used.

We expect your work to be of a high and maintainable standard using the Soapbox code style guides, providing support to the web team, colleagues and clients as required throughout the project lifecycle.

You should be confident in training clients and colleagues in the use of digital products, including how the front and back-end works, how to edit content and highlighting any potential limitations.

You will liaise with both clients and colleagues on a day-to-day basis, communicating any project requirements or issues.

This is an onsite freelance role at our London office behind Tate Modern in Southwark.
