My client seeking to recruit a software engineer to join their Technology Group. Above all else, they are seeking an engineer capable of developing software of the reliability and performance demanded by the industry. Their Technology Group has distributed development across offices near Cambridge and in Cheshire so the position can be located in either office.The position reports to the Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Programming in C.
Participate in group design activities.
Taking responsibility for work assigned.
Review existing code base to propose/develop new solutions.
Essential skills and experience
A degree in computer science, or equivalent formal training.
3-5 years software development experience in a commercial organisation.
Strong C/C++ skills.
Familiarity with Linux Development.
Highly motivated to provide complete solutions to customers.
Experience to Low Level Linux development.
Experience to embedded platforms (ARM, PowerPC, Etc.).
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technical areas.
An interest in/knowledge of graphic arts.
Preferred skills
Experience with Yocto.
Experience with Perl and/or Python.
Experience with source control software.
Exposure to PostScript / PDF would be useful.
Exposure to PCL5 and PCL6.
Education & Qualifications
2 year degree or equivalent experience.
Passport valid for international travel.
