Experience Required

  • A qualified ETL Developer with many years' experience in this field and knowledge of C++ would be an advantage.

  • Ideally they will also have Microsoft SQLServer and Oracle skills.

  • Additional skills for the Design post of ERwin, Data Modelling and SQL coding.

Key tasks and deliverables

  • Design & Build The resource will focus on various supplier products - there are limited technical resources available in-house to support this project.

  • High dependencies on external resources to allow agreed delivery dates of the in-house services to be met.

  • Due to nature of work replicating non-standard contractual processes need to secure technical resources with required skills.

  • Be competent in the use of visual Data Modelling tools, e.g. ERwin.

  • Interpret Requirements documentation accurately.

  • Interpret and understand key supplier documentation to develop Staging and Historical Data Stores (HDS).

  • Highly developed knowledge of design principles specific to a Data Warehouse including handling of history, support for slowly changing dimensions and techniques for addressing performance issues.

  • Have an understanding of code including, Microsoft SQL Server (TSQL) code, in order to facilitate the conversion to PL/SQL.

  • Work closely with technical colleagues in the Build and Test teams to ensure smooth and rapid development.

  • Develop the process of maintaining all the relevant sources of data and ensuring that it is being stored properly.

  • Develop the ETL processes and in designing and preparing the codes that meet the program specifications as well as the client requirements.

  • Implement Informatica programs and workflows, carry out unit testing, ensures customer requirements are met, carry out defect fixing.

  • Convert existing code, including C++, SIR and Microsoft SQL Server (TSQL) code to Oracle code (PL/SQL), ensuring consistency and accuracy of data processing.

  • Maintain data security for all collected and processed data

  • Document algorithms and procedures to Velocity© standards.

  • The successful candidates will help develop effective strategies that manage and expand
