Description

The successful candidate with be required to embed strong financial governance, deliver accurate and insightful cost reporting, and to provide strong commercial challenge to enable successful delivery of business critical projects.

The role as Project Accountant:

*Ensure programme costs are accurately reported, and the impact of over/under spends versus latest forecast and budget are understood
*Provide commercial challenge and insight into each stream of the programme, identify risks and opportunities, helping to identify which areas require management attention
*Attend and be a key contributor to the programme management meetings
*Produce the financial reporting slides for the Executive, Finance and Programme Steering Meetings (or equivalent)
*Account for and produce the regular on-going cost reporting as well as review, commercially challenge and report the Programme forecasts
*Support financial accounting requirements - eg redundancy, impairment reviews
*For a number of projects: evaluate financial governance, provide commercial challenge and insight, identify risks and opportunities, help to identify which projects require immediate management attention, and deliver improvements in financial governance of projects
*Facilitate and drive performance management processes

Skills and Attributes

*High energy
*Academically bright
*Ability to provide strong commercial challenge to project management
*Evidence of strong influencing skills and a record of delivering change
*Strong understanding of project management principles, documentation, project quality standards and relevant reporting requirements
*Experience of working in fast paced, results driven role within complex organisation
*Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands, demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
*Proactive and driven
*Experience in Project Management (desirable)

Qualifications
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
