Our Client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent role based in Switzerland.Your main tasks will include:
Developing solutions for sensors and measuring systems from concept to the start of production, and providing support for them over the whole product life cycle.
Establishing and broadening Hexagon's expertise with regard to laser-based sensors, triangulation and photogrammetry.
Optimising products with regard to highest accuracy, reliability and robustness taking into account topics like: thermal stability, weight to stiffness ratio, heat management, vibration and damping.
Cooperating closely with the various Hexagon R&D locations and the HTC on technology transfer and FEM simulation.
Collaborating with multi-disciplined and world-wide project teams.
Your profile:
University degree or university of applied science degree in precision engineering, mechanical engineering or systems technology
At least 5 years professional experience in the field of mechanical development or production technology with a demonstrable track record
Preferably knowledge of optical design or the design of optical systems
Experience in the design and development of high-precision engineering systems
Experience in the use of CAD (ideally with Siemens UG-NX)
Pro-active and autonomous approach to problem solving
Team player in an international environment
Fluent spoken and written English with good spoken German an advantage.
