Progressive currently have an urgent requirement for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Hampshire.

The role is for 6 months and paying around circa £25p/hr.

Ideal candidates will come from a Mechanical background and have worked in the Oil & Gas Sector.

Role Description:

The Quality Engineer - Mechanical - Supplier Quality will primarily be responsible for Mechanical Component Manufacturing, with an understanding of machining processes and assemblies. He/ She will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers are providing the required standard of materials, goods and services to support manufacturing in fulfilling the quality standards and requirements of the business and of the customers. The successful candidate will achieve this through supplier audits, product qualifications, resolution of non-conformities and other projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

* Develop new and current Mechanical suppliers through the qualification process (Control plans, Audits etc.).

* Work closely with the Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product requirements

* Assist in the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health and Safety risks.

* Establish programs to monitor and improve Mechanical supplier process capabilities for CTQs (critical requirements); Perform surveillance audits on suppliers Quality Management System, products and processes

* Technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of site material and components. Eliminate communication barriers which may affect quality and delivery requirements.

* Establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements

* Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology. Perform root cause analysis to drive corrective and preventive actions

Desired Experience:

* Strong knowledge in Mechanical Manufacturing.

* Strong knowledge in Machining manufacturing

* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes application and development for Raw Materials, Machining including programming principles and development, quality controls and international standard application.

* Lean Six Sigma certified. Internal BB or GB

* SAP experience
