Contract Project Manager / Business Analyst - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - £550p/d - £600p/d
Our client is a financial services organisation delivering services internationally. We have worked with them as a trusted partner for 16 years and have had a 'contractor' presence on site here throughout this period. We have been asked to source a Contract Project Manager / Business Analyst to manage a project to improve the flow of data into financial systems from a wide number of source operational systems, ensuring data flows are efficient and well controlled.
This role will involve a hybrid of project management and business analysis skills. Note: This role will require travel to our clients off-shore facility in Mumbai.
The project is essential to deliver the level of quality and control that is required to support the Record to Report (RTR) project that is applying a LEAN/Six Sigma approach to efficient Financial period end closes.
Key Accountabilities:
*Adherence to company SLA's and operational procedures associated with deployment of technical change
*Develop a thorough understanding of the end to end data flows from source systems to finance and reconciliations to be able to articulate solutions and impacts to stakeholders
*Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the delivery of change to either the Finance Department or to IT operations with the support of the IT BSM
*Challenge the business and IT design to ensure all components introduce solid points of control and reconciliation
*Document detailed deployment plan indicating appropriate contingency points
*Set and manage expectations to the project team of company release control procedures including utilisation of LANDesk
*Work with the test lead or manager in obtaining release package acceptance including business readiness sign off
*Work with IT BSM and Project Managers to resolve any IT resource issues or conflicts relating to the project deliverables
*Working with Finance business stakeholders to plan the business cut over activities and supporting resource requirements
*Release the pre-approved communications about the changes to all stakeholders
*Develop sound professional working relationships with the Finance Project Manager, Head of Process Improvements, BSM's, Head of Application Support and their team.
Experience: / Essential
*Business analysis with ISEB certification or equivalent experience
*Defining support models for Shared Service environments
*ITIL experience or certifications
*Excellent understanding of product release methodologies (including familiarity with ITIL's Release and Deployment Management process)
*Solid system integration experience
*Able to demonstrate significant experience in the planning and delivery of complex solutions
*Good understanding of product architecture and infrastructure components
*Good understanding of the finance function
*Able to demonstrate significant experience at this level within a similar financial environment
*Demonstrates clear leadership over those they manage
*Provides thought leadership to shape future decisions
*Strong project management skills
Desirable
*Prince 2/APM/PMI to foundation level certified or equivalent experience
*Exposure to LEAN and Six Sigma
*Exposure to service transition and offshore operations
