Description

Cathcart Energy is currently recruiting for a number of Electrical Engineers with experience of HV equipment and SCADA systems for our client in the Wind Industry.

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of systems and electrical specifications for new wind farm projects across the UK.

This role is based in Edinburgh and will involve some travel to sites in the UK

You will be involved from the very early stages of bidding for work by supporting the sales teams reviewing electrical, grid connection and Scada plans and requirements at tender stage. You will also provide technical support to the Project Managers during construction phase with occasional site visits. The quality checking of HV and Scada equipment will also be your responsibility and you will witness Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests where required.

This role will be client facing and so you must have excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with a variety of different departments internally as well as acting as an interface between the client and internal teams.

Candidates will need to have a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and a Masters degree will be an advantage.

You will need a solid understanding of HV, LV, Scada, Communication protocols and control systems.

If you have worked in the wind industry before or the renewable energy sector in general this will also aid your application.

These will be long term contract roles for a minimum of 18 months and are expected to last significantly longer.
