I am currently recruiting for a Contracts/ Commercial Manager for an Industrial Services contractor on the chemicals park in Hull.This will be a contract position and will last for a minimum of 12 months.
The company are a leading industrial services supplier to the UK Process, Petrochemical and Power Industries.
The Commercial Manager will be expected to perform the Core Skills as outlined below
- Core Skills
a. Valuations - Preparation, submission and agreement of monthly valuations
b. Commercial - MUST provide a very clear commercial position of the contract including any withheld, contract issues etc
c. Lead - MUST be seen as the commercial lead on the contract forming an integral part of the management team
d. Cost and Value - Prepare reports to meet stringent internal timescales, perform internal reviews.
e. Forecasting - Compile various yearly, quarterly, monthly forecasts identifying any variance to actual/outturn
f. Accruals - Make all necessary accruals including purchase orders, materials, labour, subcontractors, plant and vehicles, etc
g. Trackers - Implement and maintain necessary trackers i.e labour, supervision ratio's, PPE, small tools etc
h. Change Control - Timely management of change control to both client and supply chain
i. Rates - Ensure timely agreement of all annual rate increases as necessary.
j. Invoicing/Cash - Manage invoice process and ensure timely payment.
The Experience the client would be looking for is -
- 5+ years in similar role in a contracting organisation
- Knowledge of National working agreements (i.e. NAECI)
- Experience of industrial sector (oil, gas and refining) - Knowledge of best practice
- Evidence of risk and change management
As the company are a subcontractor on site the rate would be around £/day to the man.
