Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer - Supply Chain, Deliverables, Risk Management, Defence Standards, AQAP 2000 Standards

A Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer with Supply Chain, Deliverables, Risk Management, Defence Standards and AQAP Standards is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Bristol.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's team within the role of Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer.

The successful candidate will work as part of the delivery team to provide confidence to all project stakeholders that products and services from sub-contractors and suppliers will be delivered compliant and to plan: through the assessment of risk, appropriate quality planning, supplier engagement activities, management of supplier issues, management reporting and implementation of good supply-chain Quality Assurance practices (such as routine monitoring and performance measurement and the identification of opportunity for improvement).

Overview of the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer contract role

  • Work with Supply-Chain Management to review tender packs, agree tailoring, verify the cascade of all Quality requirements to the suppliers and evaluate responses
  • Be pro-active in identifying supplier Quality issues, risks and other information required to plan and implement surveillance and acceptance activities and support supplier performance improvement.
  • Use defined measures to monitor supplier performance and Quality risk and to report on ongoing supplier capability.
  • Provide the relevant expertise and use appropriate information, methods and tools, to further develop supplier capability and improve Supply-Chain management processes.
  • Review Supplier Quality and Software Quality Plans and other Data Item Deliverables against defined contractual documentation requirements and third party standards.
  • Witness product verification inspection and test prior to acceptance and manage concession applications.
  • Provide professional Quality Assurance and Quality Control advice and guidance.

Key skills required for the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer contract role

  • Good base knowledge of supply-chain Quality Assurance and the application of Quality Management standards within an organisation.
  • General knowledge of methods of inspection and test and processes for product acceptance.
  • Application of supplier process and product auditing.
  • Understanding of the use of metrics for both product and process measurement.
  • Familiarity with methods and tools for practical problem resolution and prevention.
  • Understanding of Quality risk and the principles of Risk Management.

The role is based in Bristol - commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Cirencester, Swindon, Devizes, Trowbridge, Bath, Taunton, Bridgwater, Weston-Super-Mare, Newport and Cardiff
