Mac OS X/iOS Engineer - London - UNix/Linux
Square One are looking for a Mac OS X/iOS Engineer to come on board for a 6 month contract based in Central London paying excellent day rates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and monitor service standards for Mac OS X and iOS based systems and services
Implement and maintain Desktop Standards
Maintain a cohesive European Desktop Services environment with focus on leveraging skills within the group and sharing of knowledge
Be an active and innovative team member, contributing to development and effectiveness, and undertaking other tasks as required
Establish effective communications flows to the users
Stay abreast of advances in technology
Recommend improvements in technology (hardware and software upgrades)
Schedule installations and upgrades
System administration experience must include basics of UNIX and Linux; Mac OS X
Specify, schedule and build software and hardware systems and associated improvements
Look for points of technical weakness; formulate and implement appropriate responses
Experience with iOS, Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server administration tools strongly desired
Exposure to software design concepts
Flexibility in the face of shifting priorities in a highly dynamic environment
Regular international travel required (average 2-3 days per month)
REQUIRED SKILLS/JOB EXPERIENCE
Excellent English communications skills - written and oral.
A hands-on, can-do approach to solving problems.
Insane attention to detail.
The ability to work well with others. We work very collaboratively here.
The ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently within very tight time frames.
Normally requires a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
At least 5 years experience in an IT or other technical support capacity.
Experience in UNIX/Macintosh based platforms with at least 3 years experience.
Experience in iOS platform & Apps.
General business knowledge, with knowledge of company structure.
Familiarity with IT networking and security concepts.
This role is looking to start immediately with interviews to be scheduled for this week.
