Description
A highly skilled Oracle Applications DBA/Developer is required to carry out project and BAU tasks as part of an existing development team, based in a University in the North West.The successful candidate will be part of the IT Services Application DBA team, which is currently responsible for SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle Databases within IT Services.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Analysis and Interpretation of data, producing regular performance reports to contribute to informed decision making and continuous improvement
- Experience working with Oracle and SQL databases
- Expertise as a DBA in administration, design and implementation, backups, performance tuning, management, and provision of databases
- System administration and scripting experience within a Linux environment
- Understand purpose of firewalls and load balancers, VPN and SSL technologies and an understanding of virtualization and clustered environments
A background working in a Higher Education Institution/University would be highly advantageous.
