Information Security Consultant - Chester - Contract position

A Large Financial Services Organisation based in Chester is currently seeking to recruit an Information Security Consultant to join their Chester office.

As an Information Security Consultant you will be a functional member of the EMEA GIS Consulting organisation and will work closely with other members of the team. They will be responsible for delivering policy-based decisions relating to the project
This role helps to ensure a focus on the right risk priorities and drive a responsible risk-based approach to all project decisions.

Responsibilities of an Information Security Consultant:
*Serves as a subject matter expert to deliver policy-driven risk assessment for project work relating to the relevant project.
*Provide advisory and oversight on project-related Information security
*Provides guidance and advocacy regarding the definition and remediation of risk.
*Support the EMEA Business Engagement Information Security Officers when needed
*Work in collaboration with the LOB Risk leads and application owners to help them develop appropriate processes and solutions
*Work with the global Consultancy organisation to ensure that EMEA businesses are supported in an effective, consistent and timely way.
*Performs assessment and decision recommendations at a number of key points in the project life cycle :
oInitial Risk Analysis.
oApplication Security Reviews.
oInfrastructure Security Reviews.
oSecurity Architecture.
oSecure Design Reviews.
oControl and Risk recommendations.

Requirements of an Information Security Consultant:
*Experience within a technology and financial organisation at a mid-level with good knowledge of Application Security controls and risks.
*Experience within an information security technology operational, engineering or consulting team with good knowledge of the security controls and processes required within systems and networks
*Understanding of the concepts of vulnerability management and associated monitoring solutions and practices
*Strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders to obtain or leverage necessary resources audiences
*Excellent oral and written briefing skills with the ability to communicate Information Security concepts to a variety of

Desired Skills as an Information Security Consultant:
*Technical level of understanding of current technology and operations, showing an understanding of relevant subject matters
*Previous experience working within a financial institution (Credit Card business preferred)
*Show ability to work as part of integral team in EMEA GIS
*Experience of formal security risk assessment methodologies
*Optional: CISSP qualified
