Communications Consultant/Officer - Public Sector Experience

Contract. Edinburgh. 6 months +. £250 - £300 per day. Must have public sector experience to apply!

One of our public sector clients has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Consultant/Office to work on a very large exciting project.

Description of Role:

  • To strategically plan communications and engagement activity
  • To deliver projects end to end from idea through to delivery and measurement - and to work autonomously delivering external communications and marketing campaigns and across internal communications and external communications and also be able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience developing and delivering engagement strategies, with detailed evaluation of these
  • To provide clear, succinct, accessible and tailored communications
  • To champion and embed the communications process
  • To deliver a professional communications service in all we do - both internally and externally, providing high quality materials/events, in a timely manner
  • To strive to continuously improve our communications by engaging with our staff and customers and listening to their feedback
  • To work collaboratively as a team, and with internal and external teams, to create effective and professional communications
  • To evaluate all our communications activity, to ensure we are reaching our target audiences and they are receiving information through appropriate channels
  • To increase our awareness and knowledge of rural issues and communications and to innovate using new techniques - through appropriate guidance, training or job shadowing - so we are an exemplar of best practice communications
  • To undertake other communications related tasks and responsibilities, as required

Essential Skills:

  • Strong track record and credibility developed through experience in a fast-paced communications environment - internal, external and engagement
  • Familiarity with best practice communications planning and design methodologies
  • Excellent ability to analyse and communicate complex ideas and arguments, both orally and in writing
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and building/maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Presenting ideas in a clear and positive way, making cross-cutting connections between issues and wider areas of responsibility
  • Work effectively with other parts of the business to ensure delivery is fully integrated.
  • Able to work on own initiative whilst also demonstrating strong team working
