Database Developer
Senior Database Developers are responsible for leading the data gathering before development of a database. They design, develop, test, implement and maintain new and existing databases. Database developers create management methods and systems to access efficiently to information stored in databases. They work with consultants and other members of the company to improve processes.
Working relationships
Application Developers - working very closely with dev teams responsible.
Project Managers - working very closely with project managers effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
Responsibilities
Provide database support services at all times to ensure continuous system availability.
Assist in design, development and implementation of database systems.
Perform database upgrades and migrations to support IT projects.
Optimize database systems for performance and operational efficiency.
Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.
Maintain standard data recovery processes to improve recoverability time.
Stay updated on latest developments in database services and technologies.
Implement security features to protect and secure database systems.
Respond to queries related to database from customers.
Test databases and perform bug fixes.
Recommend solutions to improve database management.
Guide programmers in database design and development.
Resolve issues related to database design and management.
Conduct trainings to junior staff on database design, development and maintenance activities.
