Data Warehouse and BI Developer

Are you a self-starting, creative and innovative Data Warehouse and BI developer?

This role is for an individual to be part of a team responsible for maintaining and developing existing and new in-house projects to support the business needs of underwriting and risk analysis group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an open, dynamic environment and collaborate closely with business users at all levels and have a key role in developing the next generation of data systems and structures.

Responsibilities

  • Including but are not limited to:
  • To design and develop SQL & ETL functionality using the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Actian Matrix, Python, including tests and documentation, to best serve the business
  • To support our applications and tools through their life cycle of testing, deployment, operation, user training, maintenance and enhancement
  • Collaboration with all stakeholders in establishing, refining, and documenting database and other functional requirements.
  • The successful candidate will have:
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server database design/development experience (T-SQL)
  • SSIS, SSAS, SSRS knowledge
  • ETL skills through T-SQL (including dynamic SQL) and/or SSIS
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of good database administration principles.
  • Experience with Datamodelling and start schema design is an advantage
  • Experience with Big Data solutions is an advantage
  • Python experience is an advantage, as is working on Linux/Unix platforms
  • Tableau experience is an advantage
  • Scripting and automation experience a distinct advantage
  • Excellent analytic, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid documentation skills.
