Job Summary Description

Responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness of the business. The candidate will be responsible forsystem administration of the enterprise-wide implementation of Splunk.

Primary Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Provides system support; installs, configures upgrades, troubleshoots, monitors, and maintains software and hardware for Splunk
  • Software deployment in Production and Staging environments
  • License management inside the application
  • General health of the application, infrastructure, etc.
  • Backup, restore, and other traditional system admin' functions
  • Service & Support Guide documentation creation and upkeep/maintenance
  • Ticket support for end-user reported issues
  • Manages/coordinates resolutions of production support issues through completion.
  • Researches and partners with vendor to address software bugs.
  • Assists in testing changes and upgrades; ensuring systems will operate wholly in current and future environments.
  • Assists in the development of end-to-end documentation for products supported.
  • Provides feedback on trend analysis for continual improvement and provide solution options for gaps within support teams.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with business and border partners.
  • Ensures systems and applications have active event monitoring with documented response actions.
  • Increases system and application supportability via automation tools.
  • Implements high availability and disaster recovery for critical systems.
  • Promotes code into production environment and validate as needed.

TYPICAL TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk application.
  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years UNIX system administration experience.
  • Shell Scripting experience preferred
