Systems Engineer - 14 month contract - Tewkesbury - £375 to £400 p/d

Systems engineer with extensive experience of mobile/satcoms/wireless products is required for a long term Contract based in Tewkesbury. You will be assisting a major bluechip client with an industry leading, and cutting edge project.

Type - Contract (14 months +)

Location - Tewkesbury

Rates - £350 to £400 per day

Start Date - ASAP

Technical Skills Required:

- Conceptual understanding of the OSI 7-layer stack model definition and operation as applied to a typical air interface stack

- Specific air interface and/or systems engineering knowledge in one or more of the following wireless communication or broadcast domains:

- Fixed and/or mobile VSAT standards and systems such as DVB-S2 and DVB-RCS

- Mobile satcoms services such as Inmarsat, Iridium or Globalstar

- ETSI and/or 3GPP wireless communication specifications such as LTE, 3G/HSPA, GSM/GPRS or PMR

- RF/physical layer and/or protocol conformance test specifications for such wireless communications standards

- Systems engineering knowledge of the architecture and operation of satcom and/or terrestrial wireless communications terminals from RF to Ethernet

- Use and capabilities of IP-based protocols and applications, including TCP/UDP, RTP/RCTP audio-video streaming, VoIP/SIP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet

Responsibilities:

System requirements and use case analysis, in conjunction with review of architectural design documents and interface control documents, to generate corresponding test procedures for product type approval, system proving and customer acceptance
