Description
The Role:I am looking for an experienced and versatile Senior SW Engineer in Test to test software and hardware for major product releases. The QA team is responsible for testing new products/features in early development phases and certifying compatible partner devices, through a combination of manual testing and working with our test automation framework. You should be able to represent QA concerns in meetings with cross-functional, project team members and also provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and extend our automated test framework
- Write automation tests to reproduce known issues and validate functionality
- Review product specifications and develop test plans for new products/features and ensure adequate test coverage
- Reproduce, isolate, and debug issues, providing detailed bug reports
- Record all test results for each test suite and provide a high level summary for areas tested
- Assist in the certification process for partner devices to ensure compatibility with Roku
- Interface with beta users and triage bugs
- 5+ years of experience writing and executing QA test plans for consumer electronics products (preferred) or software
- Python experience is required
- Hands-on experience with white box & automation testing is required
- Must have experience developing test plans & test cases
- Experience working on embedded Linux systems
- Knowledge of media formats/streaming preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
