Description

Our large Philadelphia based telecommunications client is seeking a Network Engineer for a long term assignment. This position will be crucial to upcoming assignments and supporting in-house tools.

  • The Mainframe Fiber Deployment Engineer within the Backbone Deployment Engineering team will support data entry maintenance to our in-house developed network database tool .
  • The responsibilities include oversight in driving accumulation of Backbone project data and service delivery activities as well as maintaining all facility planning documentation.
  • The position requires programming and developer skills which includes SQL as part of the qualifications.
  • In addition a requirement is to maintain the data entry documentation into the tool and applying any innovation towards automation to streamline information into the database.
  • Support is also required in developing new opportunities for upgrades to the tool to include different aspects of Backbone business as usual data.
  • Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless and VoIP) of moderate complexity.
  • Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
  • Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signalling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
  • Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement.
