Description

My client is looking for a product architect to help develop a new set of network products, including PSN, for common technology services. This will involve lots of collaboration within government departments and with the market to establish common standards and processes to ensure central government networks are better value and support new ways of working.

Role Description

  • Leading a product workstream with a scope of work that will encompass all areas of the network from wifi through to WAN including PSN.
  • Work with a technical team of network specialists to develop the products and design patterns to make best use of networks enabling users to work more easily in more locations
  • Working with user research team to understand the needs of Government including the problems that currently exist
  • Help to create a Networks product roadmap
  • Ensure that the roadmap enables other programmes within government such as estate and ways of working programmes
  • Run the solutions analysis process to source, test and shortlist the best technology products to meet the user requirements
  • Work with appropriate third party partners to deliver the network and infrastructure components required
  • Work with the security services to understand the security requirements and to assure each solution component is fully compliant.
  • Work with the commercial teams and frameworks to ensure an open and fair selection process is followed for any solution components
  • Identify support options for all infrastructure components and services and put the necessary support structures in place
  • Work with delivery teams to test and deploy products to departments
  • Provide early life support functions to end users for early deployments
  • Manage the transition through to BAU service management and continual improvement

Technical Skills:

  • Experience producing technical and non technical documentation to a high standard.
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • Experience in leading process improvement efforts is very valuable
  • Knowledge of a testing methodology and/or experience in testing (System, Unit, Integration, Interface)
  • Hands on agile analysis experience with the following core skills
  • Facilitating requirement workshops
  • Delivering master story list, domain models and detailed user stories
  • Experience in facilitating estimation sessions with developers, QAs and SMEs.
  • Prioritising user stories for iterations and facilitating iteration planning meetings
