Description

A global offshore renewable energy Operator is currently looking to recruit an experienced Onshore Cable Package Manager for an offshore wind development project, based in central London.

The project is currently in the Concept Design phase, with FID expected during 2017 and first power planned in 2020. The team is increasing in size to meet the requirements of the project and is looking for outstanding and experienced individuals.

Supporting the Electrical Package Manager you will be responsible for the 'onshore cable discipline area' - encompassing the landfall crossing & transition joint Bay provision and you will be required to manage the design, planning & tendering for the onshore export cable package.
Responsibilities will include:

Manage the electrical, civil and construction aspects of the onshore export cable package from design definition through the management of construction activities
Appropriate application of relevant design and construction standards/specifications to establish safe, economic and efficient cable system design and construction plan
Providing inputs into key project interface areas, including onshore substation and wider electrical system design.
Support value management and project optimisation process up to DG2 through tracking of optimisation activities within the electrical package team
Support Electrical Package Manager in the development of electrical package deliverables to input into project Decision Gate process
Participate in reviews of risk register, HSE assessments and engineering decision log for the substation discipline area as well as wider project processes.
Provide relevant input to the Electrical Package Manager and Consents Team to support the ongoing consenting process for the ESI system

Tasks/Deliverables:
Design & execution plan: Establish a coherent design and execution plan for the onshore cable system, incorporating the requirements of the electrical system design, landowner and consenting process
Development of a Procurement Plan for the onshore export cable package in line with requirements of the wider project Contract Strategy
Management of preparation of onshore export cable Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages(s)
Development and management of a tender assessment process for the onshore cable supply/installation scope
Manage pre-construction, consents discharge and construction activities to facilitate timely mobilisation and commencement of construction activities
Experience & qualifications required for this project:
Good experience of cable package of works' - Looking at Design, planning, costs, tendering, review of tenders & awarding subcontractors

Experience connecting export cables to onshore

Ability to support Electrical Package Manager in developing strong team ethic within the electrical package team
Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
Knowledge of underground cable installation methods, including HDD and other trenchless techniques
Familiar with of HV cable systems and termination works

Capable of working an team environment, with responsibility to co-ordinate and influence multi-discipline project resources

Track record in delivering major linear projects from initial concept selection through construction.
Experienced with procurement and project management of major onshore infrastructure projects
Experience of dealing with transmission/distribution companies and other statutory/non-statutory authorities (such Network Rail, Highways Agency) an advantage

Training/Certificates (shall be valid for the entire assignment):
IOSH H&S Qualification (NEBOSH an advantage)
Accredited Project Management qualification an advantage
