We have an opportunity for a CAD Engineer for a long term contract within a major OEM in the UK.
Working within the Steering, Wheels & Tyres team which has responsibility for Design, analysis and release of wheels, fixings, badges and transit protection.
The CAD Engineer will produce detailed 3D Models and 2D drawings for these components and release through Teamcenter. This predominantly involves design in context of complex castings and fabrications requiring the CAD Engineer to create geometry in both solids and surfaces and interpret CAE analysis results to iterate the designs.
Candidates will have proven ability to use CATIA V5 for both solid and surface modelling. Proven ability of interpretation of CAE stress and durability analysis to iterate and optimise designs. Proven ability to produce detailed engineering drawing and conduct packaging studies.
Ideally you will have a Mechanical Design background and a passion for structural engineering. Strong experience in using Catia V5 for both solid and surface modelling and experience of stress and durability analysis to iterate and optimise designs. Proven ability to produce detailed engineering drawings of complex assemblies.
Experience of Catia V6 would also be of advantage.
