Technician Engineer (Metal Worker)
General Description
Skilled sheet metal worker, fabricator and welder working on the range of products on a full time basis.
Duties
The "core" duties will be that of a fully skilled sheet metal worker, fabricator and welder and high grade polisher, predominantly though not exclusively on stainless steel working within the Metal Fabrication shop; (but also other departments and on site when required) undertaking the duties required, including but not limited to;
Safely working within the department and within the factory as a whole and when "on site".
Sheet metal work to fine limits
Metal Fabrication of sheet, plate and sections.
Metal welding (predominantly T.I.G.) and finishing and high grade polishing
Use of appropriate machine tools eg Guillotine, Break Press, Plasma Cutter, Saw(s), Roller, Grinders and Hand Tools.
Use of appropriate measuring tools eg Vernier's, Micro meters, Tapes etc.
Working to drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
Working on single and sometimes multiple products at same time
Working either singly on a product or with colleagues producing elements of same product.
Any other duty required as appropriate.
Hours of work
39 hours per week
7.30 to 4.30 Monday to Thursday inclusive.
7.30 to 12.30 Friday
